Fairy Tales indeed. How can one have finite economic growth in a world that has finite amounts of resources? I concur with you on Greta’s crusade, yet the bogan element here is reacting I guess in line with the media monopoly. That she is disturbed/manipulated/a puppet. At hairdressing salons around Australia, (surely the hotbed of reactive gossip on current affairs), I was completely aghast to hear her being attacked for claiming to “sail” to America. I offered the information that she never pretended to be anything other than a passenger, and sailed for environmental reasons, but they were vehement in their belief that she falsely claimed she had sailed a Yacht across the Atlantic. Such is the power of the M. Press and the sheep like coma of its viewers.[sigh]

I am blessed with having more reasonable people around me. Or… maybe I just don’t frequent the right saloons? Could be 😉
Seriously though, I have encountered that line of thought too, as I have seen a number of news articles about the “backers” and “enablers” standing behind Greta. And I have the same reaction to that, as I have to your “bogan elements”: in what world is it reasonable – or even vaguely interesting – to attack to the fireman for being imprecise about how she got there, while your house is burning down?
Besides which, Trump has been kind enough to remove forever any “right” people may ever have had to attack the Liberal Left for being “imprecise” in their language. Until they start judging him by the same standards, I am not going to entertain any such debate.

Saloons? If you are hanging out with cowboys in the wild west, at the saloon, no wonder you are missing the tabloid alt- right tea party of the narrow-minded at the local”frisor” – (hairdresser)!! Lol!!!
Not so funny though is the willingness of these folk to condemn a young adult with a disability. Although when I reminded them about this, at least one jaw dropped. She had clearly missed that memo on her chosen media channel.
I shall continue to challenge the Murdoch media diatribe on my own micrcosm where I can.
